Earls Court Man and Van Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions taken by Earls Court Man and Van to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. As a provider of removals, transportation, and associated services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and to protect the rights and dignity of all individuals who work with or for us.
This statement relates to the current financial year and will be reviewed and updated annually to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and aligned with best practice and applicable legislation.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Earls Court Man and Van has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in every aspect of our business and to implementing and enforcing robust systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not take place in our own operations or within our supply chains.
All directors, employees, temporary workers, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment. We will not knowingly engage with any party that is involved in or condones modern slavery or human trafficking, and we reserve the right to terminate relationships where credible concerns are identified and not promptly remedied.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Earls Court Man and Van operates in the removals and man and van sector, providing services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chains primarily consist of vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, outsourced support services, and occasional use of subcontracted drivers and porters.
We recognise that risks of modern slavery can arise particularly where labour is sourced indirectly or through complex supply chains. We therefore focus our efforts on those areas where the risk is potentially higher, such as subcontracted labour and suppliers that rely on low-paid or temporary workers.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to share our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and to comply with all relevant labour, employment, and human rights laws. Our supplier onboarding processes include ethical criteria designed to identify potential risks relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.
Where appropriate, we conduct proportionate due diligence and request information about labour practices, recruitment methods, and the use of subcontractors. We reserve the right to conduct audits, site visits, and documentary checks on higher-risk suppliers to verify compliance with our standards.
If we identify gaps or concerns, we will work with suppliers to implement corrective actions within a reasonable timeframe. If issues are not resolved or evidence of modern slavery emerges, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Earls Court Man and Van encourages a culture of openness and transparency. Any employee, contractor, supplier, or other stakeholder who has concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical labour practices is strongly encouraged to raise them without fear of retaliation.
Concerns can be reported verbally or in writing to line managers, senior management, or designated compliance contacts within the business. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much detail as possible so that concerns can be properly investigated. All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly, with appropriate action taken where needed.
We will support anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith, even if it is not confirmed by subsequent investigation.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We aim to raise awareness among our staff and contractors about the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns. Relevant employees receive guidance on our policies, supplier standards, and the steps to take if they suspect exploitation or trafficking.
We are committed to continuous improvement of our controls and procedures and keep informed of evolving best practice in the prevention of modern slavery within the transport and logistics sector.
Monitoring and Annual Review
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management to assess the effectiveness of our approach and to identify opportunities for enhancement. The review considers developments in legislation, changes in our business activities and supply chains, results from any audits or investigations, and any concerns raised through our reporting channels.
Following each review, we will update our procedures and this statement as necessary and communicate any significant changes to our employees and, where relevant, to suppliers and other stakeholders. Earls Court Man and Van remains fully committed to minimising the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking and to promoting fair, safe, and respectful working conditions throughout our operations and supply chains.
